Our pastured free range chicken
Our chickens arrive at our farm as day old chicks. We brood them inside under the right temperature conditions until they are fully feathered. Then we move them outside to their own chicken caravans. We move them around the farm just like the egg girls. Our chickens are pastured (because they live on grass and eat grass) AND they are free range. Our chickens wander around and forage during the day and put themselves to bed at night just like laying chickens. They also like to perch so we give them sticks and logs to perch on at night. The pasture they eat is chemical and fertiliser free. In addition to grass and bugs they eat a ration that is free of antibiotics and any artificial additives. We do not use any antibiotics or chemicals on the chickens and they are humanely processed at Tablelands Premier Meats near Canowindra.
